★ Why we exist

Not Every Senior
Photographer
Works This Way.

Twelfth Year is a Phoenix senior portraits studio in the downtown arts district. We’ve been at this since 2012, and it’s all we do — no weddings, no families, no corporate headshots competing for the calendar.

Most Phoenix senior photographers move five seniors through a desert sunset in an evening. That look is fine. It’s also everywhere. We book one senior per session, per day, with full creative direction before the shutter ever clicks.

The Workflow
The four chapters every senior session moves through at Twelfth Year.

The Process.

I.

Inquiry

Send a note about your senior and the weeks you’re weighing. We respond within a business day with availability and a short questionnaire.

II.

Direction

Before any photo gets made, we map the session — wardrobe, locations, references, the look you want. Direction before shutter.

III.

The Session

1 to 2 hours. Studio first, then a short walk to downtown locations. One senior per day so the calendar never feels rushed.

IV.

Final Gallery

Hand-retouched files, prints, albums, and framed wall pieces ready within a few business days. No download link, no homework.

Trust

For The Parents.

Senior portraits are one of the last milestones before a kid leaves the house. Twelfth Year takes that seriously. Every image is hand-retouched by the team — no filters, no AI, no skin work that makes a senior look like a stranger to the people who raised them.

The reveal happens the same day. Real proofs, on a large screen, in studio. The family chooses what gets printed before anyone leaves. No download link to chase, no late-night print decisions, no guessing at sizes.

Albums, framed wall pieces, gallery prints, and graduation announcements are handled in-studio with archival labs. Twelfth Year has photographed Phoenix families since 2012 — twelve graduating classes, and counting.

Common Questions

Senior Portraits Phoenix:
Common Questions.

01.

When should I book a senior session?

Summer before senior year is the sweet spot for Phoenix senior portraits. For Class of 2027, that’s now through fall 2026. Several Phoenix high schools, including the Phoenix Union High School District, have yearbook deadlines as early as September, so earlier is better.

02.

How much do Twelfth Year senior portraits cost?

Sessions and product collections are built around each senior rather than fixed packages. Reach out and we’ll send current pricing along with availability.

03.

Where does the session happen?

Sessions start at the downtown Phoenix studio and move on-location to nearby murals, brick, and architectural backdrops. Scottsdale and on-location-only sessions are available on request.

04.

How long is the session?

1 to 2 hours. Plenty of time for three to five outfit changes and a mix of studio and on-location frames.

05.

What should my senior wear?

Three to five outfits, a mix of casual and dressy. Sports gear, instruments, jewelry, or anything that says something about who they are. Cap and gown too, once the school has handed it out.

06.

When do we see the photos?

The same day. Right after the session we sit down on a large screen, scroll through every frame, and the family chooses their favorites. Retouched files and prints are ready within a few business days.

07.

I hate having my photo taken. Help.

Almost every senior says this. Ten minutes in, the camera disappears. Every pose is directed and every detail is fixed — it runs like a conversation, not a photo shoot.

08.

Can my mom or a friend come along?

Yes. Bring whoever helps the senior feel comfortable. The studio is set up for it.

09.

Where is the studio?

In the downtown Phoenix arts district. Free parking on site. Full address shared once your session is booked.
